Gameplay

An endless runner where the player faced different obstacles and a progressive faster tempo on there way to get a new highscore. The further the players reaches the higher the tempo gets, making the game harder. If the player reaches a certain score they unlock new colors for the player.

What i did

During the project I was in charge of the general game design, including the reward system and gameplay loop. Making the player want to keep playing the game was our biggest concern. To solve that we added the "skin" reward system, beating a certain score unlocks new colors for the player to use as a skin for the character in game.

 

At an early stage of the project our teams graphic designer had to quit. That made us rethink the whole design of the game. I took the design decision to keep the graphic as simple as possible and instead focus on other parts of the gameplay. The choice to go simple with the design was the right way for us now, considering the composition of roles in our team.

 

This was my first big project at the beginning of my education, I learned alot about all the aspects of game development. The most important lesson so early on was learning how to communicate as a team when developing a game, the different roles and tasks, and how to work together..
