Hi, I'm Emil!

I am a Game Designer with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer and Systems Science with a specialization in Game Development from Stockholm University.

​

Below I’ve gathered some highlights from a few of my projects.

Overthrown

Overthrown is a player vs. player online shooter. Based around capturing an object and draining it of points while defending it from the opposing team.

​

It was my first time creating an online game which brought new design challenges for me.

​

Overthrown was developed by a cross-functional team of students over a 3 month time period. I was in charge of Game Design, it was also the first project in which I had the role of producer.

MineBots

A two-player co-op adventure/shooter game. The goal of the game is to collect all the parts needed to repair the elevator, which will save you from the horrors of the cave.

 

Developed by a group of students for our second year project course at Stockholm University.

Duration: 8 weeks

Cubic Void

Cubic Void is an endless runner game, created by a group of students at Stockholm University during a course in mobile application development. This game was created in a four week timespan.

 

The goal of the game is to beat your own high score with the help of power-ups. It is perfect for playing while commuting to work or school.

Stockholms University 2020 - 2023

  • Bachelor’s  Degree in Computer and Systems Science with a specialization in Game Development.

  • Courses in design, programming and 3D

  • Multiple project courses where the students worked in cross-functional teams where I had the role of Game Designer.

  • Experience working with software such as Unity, Maya, and Substance painter.

  • Experience in both Java and C# as well as working with algorithms and data structures.

  • Experience of working in agile workflows and with software such as Trello and Jira.

  • Studied social science for my high school diploma.

​Work Experience

Bartender 2014 - Today

  • Started working part time after high school as a busboy and subsequently worked my way up to the position of bartender. I was a full time bartender between 2015-2020.

Television Logger Aug 2015 - Dec 2015

  • Worked as a live logger on television reality show Big Brother, pinpointing the most interesting events during  the day for the editors to include in the daily shows. The show was live 24/7, meaning that I worked all day  together with photographers, editors and sound engineers in a high-pressure, team environment.015

About me

My name is Emil Körnung. I’m  28 years old, and I live in Blåsut in the South of Stockholm.  

 

In my free time, I of course like playing computer and video games. Some of my recent favorites has included “Red Dead Redemption 2”, “Hearts Of Iron 4” and “Horizon Forbidden West”. I enjoy story based games with immersive storylines as well as grand strategy games.

​

Another big interest of mine is sports, especially football. I am an avid fan of the Swedish football team Hammarby. I never miss a game, and I often go to see them live both home and away.
